So heres the deal people & some of you KNOW I KNOW who you are... If you are a Rescue & you have used the rehabilitation services of e-collar training its time to step up & say so. The dogs you take into rescue, the cast always, the strays, the aggressive tenancies that positive reinforcement could not mend in these dogs, you all need to start standing up and speaking on this issue. Do not hide in shame because you fear someone will judge you because I will personally be there to back you up! If you have offered ANY dog training that has saved a dogs life, even though it was not the popular decision, then you need to start telling people so. This is why... If you dont dig your heads out of the sand & affirm that some of the dogs you have taken into rescue require alternative training methods then you will be failing future rescued dogs. Why? Because some people wish to take that last resort away from a dog. They consider it abusive, which I find ironic. Is it not abusive to save a life only then to end that life because positive reinforcement didnt work or because you denied a dog that last chance that could have been successful? Consider the dogs you have saved, had rehabilitated & are now living happy, productive lives due to e-collar training because if you dont then the positive reinforcement trainers will effectively be putting the needle in the next dog you rescue. TIME TO START SPEAKING UP!
