So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36 NASB) Paul records in 1 Thessalonians that the people "turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God." Our problem is we often try to turn from our idols to God, relying on our own strength to set us free. If we are in Christ, however, He has already set us free from whatever idol, stronghold, struggle, doubt, fear, etc. we have in our lives. It is already accomplished by Christ without us having to strive for the freedom. Turn to God, seek His face, and you will find that the freedom you seek is already there!
