So in the past I have been quite opinionated and overt with particular political issues, but as Ive grown older and after some semi-serious arguments with friends and family members regarding heated political topics Ive decided to keep some of my stronger opinions to myself bc it is apparent that some people find it gives them free range to argue (yes I did not say debate or discuss). ALTHOUGH, today I DO have to discuss something that for the first time in my life has truly effected me. In the past the subject matters leaned more on irritation or preference but this topic has personally been an assault against the health and freedom of me and my family: OBAMACARE. Both my husband and I chose to take the penalty bc to be honest the insurance that we qualified for was the equivalent of being offered a dirty bandaid; sure youre covered but the likelihood of that coverage lasting for long enough to actual protect you is slim to none! We decided to take our chances! Either way if something major was to happen to us the shitty insurance plan we were offered would only last for long enough to get us diagnosed and then we would be bankrupt AND bankruptcy is still bankruptcy when youre broke! BUT what really ticks me off is that our daughters health insurance plan was terminated and was replaced by a plan that was in congruence to obamacare regulations and one that the government felt she was qualified for; one that is WAY worse then her previous plan. ACTUALLY if I wanted to sign her up for a plan similar to her old one it would now cost me three times as much to do so! Its CORRUPTION! Sure now they tote that no one will get denied! but youre NOT going to get the care you need and they will mostly work with you for years on symptom management before they ever consider treating and fixing the problem--why? Bc now doctors and hospitals arent getting paid enough to even cover their costs. And if you like your Obamacare plan then I suggest you really take a look at what youre getting! LOOK and examine your plan (e.g., what is covered, your premium, your office visit fees, prescription fees, etc.) and as yourself What is it that Im really getting? Bc if it says you have to reach a deductible of a certain amount of money before they even cover care and that deductible is unreasonable then you might as well deny their dirty bandaid and start throwing some stones and rain dancing!
