So its Halloween and its always fun to see the conversations and videos going on within Christendom, so id thought id make a little comment. What I don’t understand is the Paradox of most Christians around this area is that on one hand they will go to church and sing how great is thou art, how awesome is the name of Jesus, how hes the rock that can’t be moved and hes victorious over everything yet when it comes to one night of the year we freak out and get all scared. Now where an outfit does not make you worshiping the things you are wearing, that’s like saying the Nike shirt you are wearing means you are worshiping the Greek God Nike. Having my first submersion in the US culture of Halloween and having been trained in the ability in seeing Jesus and beauty in all things, I can see many amazing things about this time, I see families getting around a table connect around carving pumpkins, I see a sense of fun and excitement around for the little ones, I see communities coming together in competition and camaraderie, I see release and fun with around what normally can be tedious and staining School system, I see children who would otherwise be shy able to come out of their bubbles and play with other kids. Yes on the surface of halloween I don’t like the millions of dollars being spent on Halloween of course it could go to better causes, and yes I know it is pretty dark as well, sure we can focus on those things or realize that there is so much beauty with in it and we are in a culture that loves it, so we can choose to avoid it or take the opportunities to connect with those that dont know the beauty of Jesus and a loving God and get to connect, love and bless on the people around us that we would of not had the opportunity to be able to otherwise. There are two stories my Step daughters have shared that and stood out for me this year the first one is their favorite story that I have heard about 4 or 5 so far, it is about the place they went where they got large whole chocolate bars and Large Juice or Pop, they smile and face light up every time they share about the Generosity of these people. The other is about the family that stands at the front door holding hands and with their backs to the people walking by. To conclude my favorite verses that sums up all that I believe in this area are these 1 Cor 8:5-6 (Mirror Bible) There is a lot of talk about other gods and demonic powers operating on earth as well as in the heavenly realm; obviously they seem to be empowered by peoples beliefs in them and conversations about them; so there seem to be many gods lording it over people. This does not make them competition to God; we know that for us there is only one God who is the source of all things; there is only one authority, the Lord Jesus Christ. All things exist because of him; we owe our very being to him. He alone is gives context and reference to our lives. Blessings
