So last Wednesday Rickie had his appt at the eye institute to get everything together for his cornea transplant on Nov.10th. So that day they had to take his lens out and do a bunch of measurements and tests on his eye. So we didnt have any of his lens solution or his case with us so the nurse gave him a case and filled both sides of it with solution for him. So when she went to get the solution Rickie said to her, you know my lens is a gas permeable hard lens, not a normal lens and it has to have special solution So she says kinda smart yes I know. So he said when she put his lens back in after the tests that it burned his eye but he never thought too much about it. So anyway that night I got admitted for the allergic reaction and he had that contact case filled with solution that the nurse had gave him in his truck. Well he went home late that night and was going to come back to the hospital early that next morning. So when he got home he took the lens out and put it in that case she gave him and when he got up the next morning to put it in the lens was like jelly and half dissolved!! So obviously she didnt give him the right solution. He is devastated! We went thru hell to finally get the money for that lens, and had it not been for our neighbors giving us the $500 for it we probably wouldnt have got it. So needless to say we are really upset about this and he has over 2 months till the transplant. So once again he is totally blind and so upset. I cant believe that this happened. He even called the eye institute and told them but they havent even called us back. This whole situation is awful!
