So let me get this straight...Comcast only gives you a promotional rate if you agree to an extended service contract. If you bail in the middle, its $230 for early termination. When the contract is up, your bill increases nearly 40%. When you call to ask why it went up, they tell you they can get you back to the same price but you have to cut out channels you use. When you threaten to go to Verizon, all of a sudden they discover they have a new promotion, which is cheaper and better than what youve been paying, but requires another 24 month agreement. It took me 45 mins on the phone to get the new deal and they got another 2 years of commitment. Had they just offered me the new promotion before my bill went up, it could have been a positive customer experience. Instead, it exposes their manipulation and extortion of every loyal, diligent bill-paying customer. Unfortunately, Verizon and DirecTV probably conduct business the same way.
