So long Scherzer. 7 years for $180 million...congrats. It was great watching you turn into a front of the rotation pitcher here in the D. I guess 6 years at $144 million was an insult. You had a couple of dominant years here that should be unforgettable. Unfortunately, because of sheer greed, all Ill remember about you is you turning down more money than your family tree could ever spend for even more money. When is enough enough? When does loyalty enter the fray? What are the Nats getting for all the tea in China? A bulldog who rarely gets into the eighth inning. A guy who begged out of a crucial ALCS game against Boston when the team most needed him. A six inning specialist who will drain the bullpen. now the Nats will move someone to free up some cash and Dave D will pursue Shields with the Max money laying around, and he and his complete games will help protect our mediocre bullpen.
