So many kind birthday wishes!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart each and every one of you! As many of you know Ma died in January of 2013. My heart breaks every day but especially today...no phone call, no birthday cake to share, my oldest and dearest best friend died that day. My one and only regret is that she is buried in Omaha and I cant talk to her until I go back to visit. Steve knew how much that made me sad so he got a small granite marker with her name, birth year and death year engraved on it and put it in the backyard with a concrete bench right next to it so I can visit her whenever I want. I filled a shoebox with her shoes; for all the miles we walked together. Her glasses; for all the things we saw and laughed about. Her license plates to her car; her brand new car and she knew it would be her last one. A reindeer pin I had given her so many years ago since she loved Christmas. We buried it under the marker so just a little bit of Ma will always be with this forever memorial. I have the best, most thoughtful husband in the world. Yep, I cried! It was the best gift I have ever received..a lasting tribute to my Mom!!
