So many people lack common sense, compassion and empathy. Yancy - TopicsExpress

So many people lack common sense, compassion and empathy. Yancy Baer’s left leg was amputated in 2009 due to bone cancer. He got his service dog 14 weeks ago through Canine Companions for Independence. Baer was in Houston, Texas, to speak about his experience with Canine Companions for Independence when he stopped into a Starbucks. According to Baer, a Starbucks employee met him at the door and told him he couldn’t bring his dog into the Starbucks. “He stated, you’re not blind,” Baer told KHOU 11 News. “It was in your face, loud and bold. I got really nervous. I was shaking because I was being confronted.” Baer eventually spoke with a shift supervisor who let him into the store, but charged him for his drink and muffin, according to the veterans posting on Facebook. In a statement, Starbucks said, “We have spoken with this customer to apologize for his experience, and we hope to have the opportunity to serve him again.”
