So much fantastic news for JazzCorner roster vocalist Libby York Music including a new website which we created and host, rave reviews for her record Memoir and a great gig at the Jazz at the Kitano New York on May 7 which the The New Yorker said: The veteran vocalist, who is based in Chicago and has long flown under the radar, has a new album, Memoir, which showcases her wit and easy swing. The superb cornettist and occasional singer Warren Vaché enlivens the recording, and their duets, especially Put It There, Pal and Lets Call the Whole Thing Off, are standouts. Vaché joins York at the Kitanos jazz lounge, where theyll be backed by the pianist John DiMartino and the bassist Martin Wind. (66 Park Ave., at 38th St. 212-885-7119. May 7.)
