So my grandmother Ida Wheatley died today and while many would be - TopicsExpress

So my grandmother Ida Wheatley died today and while many would be devastated by the loss of a grandmother (My hearts go out to Peter Charles, Jenny Wheatley, Jenna Hubbard, Tricia Wheatley and all other members of the family) I am surprised by how well I am coping with this. It is absolutely terrible of course to lose a grandparent, it always is, but I dont know. Maybe its because I wasnt able to be close to her all my life with all my travels around the world, although the memories I do have of her are precious or maybe its just the way I deal with death but right now Id rather be celebrating her life than be mourning her passing. Through my interactions with her and all the stories Ive heard, she was a woman with a beautiful heart, great spirit and immense love for her family. She was a loving mother of 7 children and lived a full life in both America and Africa while discovering the world through her travels and that is what I wish to celebrate. She was a fantastic woman and I love her like crazy. At least she was able to go the way she wanted to and, to put it in the words she used while talking to my dad yesterday; be with her Charlie. We will always miss you grandma and will love you forever.
