So my phone was driving me nuts because my internet was being really slow trying to load pages and it got me thinkin.... Nowadays, we can shop, do our banking, play games, check Facebook, take pics and videos, and for many ppl, we live our lives based around our cell phones and would be lost and devastated if we were to forget, lose, or leave our cell at home. So I started to reminisce about the days of old.... In grade 9, like most of my buddies, I got my first pager! 3 buttons, one line display, and damn cool... Eventually, I got my first cell phone... not just any phone, but a Motorola Star-Tac! That robotic lookin one line of orange numbers was the future. And, for a long time, and many different phones, we all called eachother and TALKED on our cells! Some phones had a primitive text option that no one really cared about or knew how to use. I mean, whats the point of typing a msg to someone when u could dial 7 digits (no 250 involved) and have a whole conversation faster than typing a 20 word txt msg? But eventually we all learned that that lil txt msg feature meant you could quickly convey a message to someone easily, and was great for those awkward talks that you dreaded having.... txting has no emotional involvement. Anyways, it was a quick and simple progression from there... picture msging, basic web browsing, email, Blackberrys, etc. etc. until we arrive to today. The act of talking on a cell is nearly a thing of the past, which is kinda sad, and you can do almost everything u can do on a laptop on the device in your pocket. Pretty amazing stuff hey? Its just funny to think how much things change so quickly... so maybe, for ol times sake, Call someone today, and have even just a quick conversation to remind yourself how much more meaningful it can be hearing a loved ones voice... After all, thats all we used to know.
