So on my way home from work today I see an awsome surprise! The backbone of the U.S. Marine Corps is in my sight. (2) AH-1Ws and (1) UH-1Y which I have been dying to see. They landed at Columbus airport. I did a U-turn in the road and raced back to them to catch them before they refueled and left again. They are not leaving tonight so I got to check them all out. WOW did that ever bring back some great memories of some awsome people and times. Working, flying on, shooting guns from, rocket runs, dog fights in Yuma with all the other aircraft and helicopters, WOW what a great time that was with some great people and friends. Turns out they are here to perform a fly over for a Silver Star recipient at his memorial service near by Columbus, OH tomorrow at noon. Thank you for the oportunity to check out your machines SSGT Gilbow, SGT Troche, CPL Bass, LCPL Parker, and Pilots Lt.COL Batzel, Major Rainey, Capt Burnette, Capt Manfro, and there are two other pilots who I missed getting their names because I did not want to disturb them while they were checking out the radio for tomorrows ground communication. Semper Fi Marines!! And thank you all for letting me hang out and the service you provide for our nations freedom. HMLA 773 RED DOGS...OOORAH!!
