So people ask why I support immigration reform, there is a plethora of reasons and it can be a long message so here are a few: 1.) The FACT is that there are 11 million undocumented here in this country. The overall economic impact of naturalization will equate to billions in revenue for our country and hundreds of thousands of jobs. Historically, the immigrant population has proven to start new businesses and contribute to workforce development. For those who oppose, it will costs us $8000 per person for deportation leaving a substantial net loss (versus gain in naturalization) to our economy. 2.) Our country was built on immigration, if you talk to enough U.S. Congress, Senators, etc.. they have even recent family immigration stories going even up to 1 or 2 generations. 3.) If a child came here (Deferred Action) at no fault of their own, this is the only country they know and all they are seeking is an equal opportunity to education and contribute to our society. 4.) With the exception of the indigenous native population, your family migrated to the U.S. at some point in history (some voluntarily and others not voluntarily in their ancestry). 5.) Family reunification - It is truly heartbreaking to see children being separated from their parents and family members who are taken. Give those children a chance to be with their families. Easy exercise- Take a few moments to talk to someone and empathize with what they are going through with immigration. Walk a mile in their shoes and maybe.. just maybe you can understand their disposition. Sometime looking at things objectively has nothing to do with a political agenda, it just comes down to common sense.
