So sad to hear of Louie Zamperinis passing today. He was one of 4 people (among 16) in my grandfathers World War II B24 bomber squadron to survive the war, and survive he did! He kept surviving, and surviving, and surviving during the war. And he ended up living an amazing life after surviving even more with his youth ministry. I know my grandfather considered Louie a friend, and looked up to him. Im sure they have already given each other a hug, followed by a salute in respect to one-another on the other side. Go do Louie a favor today and read Unbroken by Laura Hildebrant, and then Finish Forty and Home by Phil Scarce to truly understand what these heroes did for us. Then shed a tear with me at their loss from this world. We lost one of the great ones this week - Ill miss hearing his stories. May we never forget.
