So sad to learn that Maya Angelou died last night. She was found dead in her home by her caregiver. She was 86. I was just telling a friend last night that the anticipation of her coming on my show, was the most intimidating experience I can recall. It wasnt because of the way she carried herself, it was because of the level of respect and reverence I had for her. She was more than a national treasure, she was a national teacher, who taught many things. Among them, Love, truth, and compassion. She was a light that will shine for eternity. For as she said, Nothing can dim the light which shines from within. Have a peaceful journey my beautiful sister.
