So, the last 24 hours have been pretty hard on our boy! ( and us too! ) Hed ingested some items that dont belong in a puppys belly! Oh Buddy! So this morning, off to the vet we go. They took x rays and decided they had to remove them from his intestines and as it turns out, his stomach too. Major surgery! And just two weeks after he got neutered too, poor thing. Then this afternoon we transported him to the 24 hour clinic for round the clock care for the next few days. As we sat in the clinic, I was super tearful, several times over. SO SAD for our little Buddy, the pain hes experiencing and selfishly wanting to snuggle and comfort him as he was shaking from his anesthesia. I was feeling SO SAD!! Then I said to Ray... I really need to focus on my gratitude. We have the means to get him the care he needs and he IS going to be ok. THANK GOD we can cover these huge bills! A few years ago if this would have happened, like many familys we would have been forced to make VERY difficult decisions. We love our puppy so much and to be faced with having to choose to pay thousands of dollars we didnt have or ...what? No surgery? Not treat him? Oh my goodness. No. See this is a great example of what is means to have financial freedom. A savings account. A plan B. A back up plan. Security. Its days like today that I am SO STINKING GRATEFUL we can just say yes. Take care of our baby. No hesitation. No stress. Just say yes. I always say, having money in the bank is an amazing feeling, but its more about what you can DO with it that makes it important! In this case, save a life! Once again, Im given perspective. Please keep our little man in your prayers friends and be sure you have a plan!!! You never know when youll need it!
