So theres these two suburban Swedish sisters and they decide to have a career in music. Staying away from pop they go down the folk/country route. This shouldnt work, but it does and thats why Stay Gold by First Aid Kit (SE) OFFICIAL is my Number 3 album of the year. Soaring vocals, beautiful arrangements, and songs that anyone in the industry would kill for, this is a fantastic album. I originally had this down as the ninth best album of the year, but as I was doing the list, I kept thinking no, Stay Gold is better. and it really is, this album is just amazing and considering these two are only 24 and 21 years of age, the music they are producing is so mature, well rounded and timeless. Prior to this year, First Aid Kit were well known in their native Sweden and on the folk festival circuit, but 11,000 records sold in the UK alone, shows they are on the rise. I would urge you to buy this album, it really is excellent
