So this weekend I found out that The Makeup Show NYC changed Jon - TopicsExpress

So this weekend I found out that The Makeup Show NYC changed Jon Hennessys class to be taught by another educator. $140 and they did not think to tell anyone and quietly let it slip on by that 20 other artists $140 was reallocated to another person. This is NOT to degrade the new educator, I happen to know theyre great. But isnt it OUR choice if we want to learn from them? What if they have an aesthetic we have no desire to duplicate? Or, furthermore, what if we have already taken their classes? The Makeup Show is supposedly geared towards WORKING makeup artists and as freelancers, money does not grow on trees. So if I take $$ out of my education fund for a specific person, it should not just be thrown towards another. Theyre hiding behind a small loophole where they state presenters & topics subject to change but this is not the case. This is a HANDS ON class with an EDUCATOR, not a presenter! This would be like any other class where we pay good money for a specific artist and they randomly say Sorry guys, but heres another great person to teach. Never would it work like that outside of the show, and it should not work this time around. After speaking with other artists, it seems that this has happened at many shows around the country and quite frankly, its wrong. You all know Im not the type to rant, at all, and I have given fair chance to either transfer my money to a class of my choice or to refund it but it seems that they are hiding behind their policy. If anyone has had this happen to them, PLEASE I urge that you write to Sophia@metropolitanevents and ask WHY we werent given an option until multiple artists saw the quiet change on the site. I will give a hard second thought to ever purchasing classes from this show again which is sad because they always have phenomenal artists and educators on queue.
