So today was Wallaces first trip to a deer stand with me. We didnt see anything so in most peoples eyes it would be a unsuccessful hunt. Let me tell you why it was everything but unsuccessful. Wallace was extremely excited to finally get to go hunting with his Daddy. We sat and listened to birds and made silly faces at each other. Of course, there were also a thousand no so loud and try to be still said in the little over an hour we were there. But my best buddy was with me and wanted to be with me. As the sun started to set, I began to realize that the one thing I wanted more than anything, him to see a deer, wasnt going to happen. I was pretty disappointed until Wallace put his arm around me, laid his head on my shoulder and said Daddy, I like hunting with you, I love you. Youre my best buddy! That is 100% success in my eyes. Ill take those words out of his mouth over any buck deer!
