So, today was a nice day, and I took the dogs to the garden to run unobstructed for a while. I have such amazing dogs... Spooner Von Pantsbrain McGee is a rat terrier/german shepherd mix, and is built to fly like the wind. He is an amazement to watch for anyone who has an appreciation for good quality dogs. He is intelligent, and has the best combination of speed and agility anyone could hope for, along with a set of canines as big as a german shepherd in his little pin head. :D He can rock climb, and solve problems on his own, (real problems, not treat giving toys). Spooner is trained above and beyond all else to know where Valin is at, and to find Valin. This dog will jump and run up the side of a rock 6ft high to get to Valin at the top. Jupiter the Mighty is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, and I discovered today he was also built to fly like the wind. I have only ever seen one other tog topping over 100 lbs that can run like that, and it was a black and tan brindle greyhound named MoThugs that was still a pup when I worked at the dog track. He is also a very intelligent dog, with with a sense of humor you couldnt teach a dog if you worked on it everyday. Hes not even two yet, so hes still kind of stupey sometimes, my big ole doofy dog, but man to see him run at almost capacity! And I say almost capacity, cause he looked like he was just starting to get into stride when he got to the other end of the fence. Ive always loved dogs, and Ive always had a genuine appreciation for quality dogs. Looks, intelligence, capability... I secretly judge everyones dogs lol Dont worry, its neither good nor bad! I just have a knack for knowing what a dog would be really good at. Anyways, today was a good day watching my dogs let loose. It was magnificent watching them run so fast. I always take a moment to stand in awe at Spooner (he doesnt run away when we go to the park), but today I got to stand in awe and wonder at Jupiter, the big 100+ lb meat missile rocketing through the empty garden, keeping up with Spooner the whole time, until they were both so tired they were leaning on each other to run. It was just very beautiful to watch, and it made my heart happy :D
