So, today was the launch of our school as a Kids Matter school. Big thank u to all who made it such a fantastic morning with our theme being Every Face has A Place. Every student n staff member from aides to cleaners n gardeners, plus taxi drivers, pickup parents, carers wheel chair kids, all on film individually dancing n moving to the song Happy. We had a disco n danced til we dropped. Thanks to the Heatley High School boys who mixed a deadly DJ set of dance tracks for us. Big thanks to Tammy who manned the photo booth, our class pic was amazing we all looked sooo cool with our disco dress ups. Thanks to Pam who baked tiny cupcakes for every single person in the school. A big thanks to Brian who covered every single window in B block with black plastic on Friday only to have to pull it down again today after the disco. It made the strobe light n dry ice look soo good! Finally, a big thank u to my teacher aide who missed out, to sit with a student who couldt handle the noise. And to my challenging young man and two other students who refused to stop dancing for a whole hour ( we were the last class to leave) and yelled n jumped n waved arms n screamed every time Sandy lifted her arms to YMCA, thank you, thank you, thank you! My heart is filled with gratitude for being able to teach you, and my knees are locked in pain right now from all that twisting n jumping.
