So we thought that we were going to get to surprise a lot of people with a visit back home to Alcoa, we had called on Christmas Eve to see if Hannah could possibly come home for a short visit after Christmas and we were told that they didnt want to chance her counts getting low and her spiking a fever, so if her counts were good on today then they would let her come home for a week, well yesterday when we found out her counts were great, she was soo excited because we just knew we were going to get the green light to come home. Well both of her onocologists felt it wasnt a good idea and they talked and decided to tell us something even better........wait for it........ Hannah first came over to St. Jude November 9th, once I arrived I spoke to her Onocologist and she told me the type of tumor she had and what her treatment would be, I was told that it would be at least 6 months of treatment and I said to her, well knowing Hannah shell kick it in 3 months, well needless to say she was adamant with the 6 months, so I just left it at that, the plan was to give chemo, followed by more intense chemo, then some radiation to shrink the tumor so they could get it small enough to surgically remove the tumor. Well after the Doctor told us she couldnt come home, he went ahead and showed us her tumor from when she first came in to the last time they did a CT scan, he also read the comments and if you all could see how huge this tumor was (yes I said was) all we could do was say wow! If you could have seen her lungs more WOW, anyway, this is the plan, Hannah is being scheduled for Surgery to remove the tumor the week of January 12th yes I said January the 12th, once she recovers from the surgery, they will let her come home home (Alcoa) for a few days come back and start the radiation to get whatever cells may remain. This is after 3 rounds of Chemo!!!!! God is sooo good, we wanted to come home for just a little while, God is preparing Hannah to come home for good!!!!
