So what does it mean that transgender people, like me, get to be - TopicsExpress

So what does it mean that transgender people, like me, get to be on Glee and other mainstream shows? It means that TV and producers of shows are actively seeking trans actors and extras. It is a proud moment for us as a community to see our fellow brothers and sisters get parts. You know, for years it was not that way. There were no trans people anywhere on the tube or screen. Now there are more opportunities than ever. So never give up or get on those band wagons where people nay-say TV and film for blowing us off. I have always found that the old adage is what works best: You attract more flies with honey than vinegar. So why be so negative? See my being an extra on Glee, along with many others, as a huge step in the right direction. We will for sure be on the Loids and the blog sites for being on Glee. This is a very proud moment and I hope that it inspires you. Some may say this is not a big deal and that its only an extra part, well to me it is big and to the community, I think it is a very big deal. For once we are somebody and we are becoming even more prominent in society. Every person like me who is on the screen paves the way for others who are far more talented. I am very grateful to you my friends who have encouraged me and inspired me to be all that I can be. Because of you, I am able to stand strong and proud and now, I am honored to stand with others who are also privileged to be on Glee. Much Love - Jenny Taylor
