So what was the shaking/tremor all about today? No, I didnt feel it. But over a hundred comments, emails, or messages say I should address it. And Id be happy to oblige, but I wish I could shed more light on this than Im able to. So a penny for a few of my thoughts: 1.) I really wish I knew what the cause was to solve the mystery. But it was not meteorological, or geological(earthquake). 2.) The frequency of these tremor incidents seems to be increasing, as the mysterious shaking occurs multiple times a year now. 3.) If there is a meteorological cause or if it was an earthquake, I would post immediately. The only measurable earthquake that I know of(and felt) here in South Jersey was back in 2011 the week before Irene struck. 4.) I still think, and this is purely opinion, the cause to be sonic booms from military exercises, which are not often publicized. But thats per speculation on my part. 5.) While I felt the earthquake in 2011, I have not felt a single tremor since. But Im certainly not doubting the hundreds of reports that emerge after each shaking incident. I only wish I could be of more help and deliver an answer to the question that seemingly has no answer, or at least point you in the right direction as to where to turn. But since I cant do either, all I can say is its likely a man-made cause, and not a natural(meteorological or geological) one. And again, thats just an opinion. 6.) Im flattered many of you turned to me for a hopeful answer to this question. If I ever find a definitive one, rest assured I will post it. Sorry I cant be of more help otherwise. But weatherwise, I usually have the answers...when mother nature cooperates...lol:)
