SoOo lately, I’ve been meditating on the story of Zacchaeus in Luke 19, and I think it contains a great lesson for anyone who wishes to someday see greatness, whether spiritual or natural. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus, the greatest greatness this world has ever known. But there are obstacles that present themselves when you’re trying to see greatness, both personal and external. Zacchaeus was a short man; still, he didn’t let his HEIGHT limit his SIGHT! He was also a rich man, but he didn’t let his worth weigh him down. You should never let neither your STATURE nor your STATUS stop you from chasing greatness. Zacchaeus also had to overcome the crowd that was standing in the way of him and the Greatness he was trying to witness. Perhaps, the crowd blocking you from seeing greatness is those college years, or your lack of finances, or the earthly temptations, and so on. But Zacchaeus didn’t let the press pressure him. He ran and climbed up a tree and went above all the obstructions. He branched out. He went out on a limb. And it worked! As Jesus walked by, He looked up and saw Zacchaeus and that night went to be a guest in Zacchaeus’ home. This left the outsiders in shock, wondering how Greatness could go into the home of such a man. But this wouldn’t have happened if Zacchaeus didn’t climb higher than his obstacles. So for everyone striving to one day see greatness, I say: keep climbing. I’ll see you at the top!!! :)
