Society does need some clarity and some guidance. In Shof ’tim, we are also looking at the inner judge, the support of the tzaddik in our lives, and the support and interaction of the community as a holy feedback system that helps us evolve our midot, so that we are able to hold the energetics. May we all be blessed that we operate in the world with that consciousness and understanding. May we live every moment in ways that create harmony rather than chaos, and may we live with the moment-to-moment consciousness of the “third brother.” May we be blessed that we do not judge ourselves or others, and thereby perceive ourselves or others as separate from God, because as we judge others, so we too become judged (Talmud Bav’li, Shabbat 127b).
