To give an idea: Among the cities in Metro Manila, Makati and Quezon City have roughly the same income (Makati’s is slightly higher). But Quezon City’s population of 2.8 million (as of 2010) is almost six times that of Makati (477,000), and its land area is eight times larger. With the best will in the world, Quezon City cannot hope to provide the services that Makati is providing. And with the best will in the world, Jojo Binay cannot replicate Makati elsewhere in the Philippines.
