Some interesting statistics. President Mills percentage share - TopicsExpress

Some interesting statistics. President Mills percentage share of the votes in the FIVE presidential elections he contested since 2000; 2000 (r1) 44.54 2000 (r2) 43.10 2004 44.64 2008 (r1) 47.92 2008 (r2) 50.23 Observations: 1. In the two 2000 contests and the 2004 contests he fought, he obtained less than 45% of the vote share. The party held its nerve and presented him for the 2008 elections.. 2. His share in the first round of the 2000 elections dipped in the second round and in 2004 only recovered to .10% above the original R1 2000 elections. 3. In 2000, he still could not clinch it first time round and only climbed the hurdle at the second attempt. Conclusions: 1. Prior to his victory at the 3rd (or 5th, if you like) attempt, Mills was a struggling presidential candidate, consistently scoring below 45% on three occasions and just under 48% on one occasion. 2. It is baffling to hear NDC folks dismiss Nana Addos 3rd attempt with a sneer, when he has never dipped below 47%. 3. Point 2 becomes clearer and understandable when one appreciates their penchant for the dark art of propaganda, which the NPP seems pathetically unable to counter.
