Some months ago, alone in the privacy of my own home and having not adequately supplied myself with the various garments one normally wears under ones street clothing, I exited the bathroom somewhat minimally attired, in search of what I lacked. Remembering a basket of freshly folded clothing in the living room, I scooted down the hallway past the reposing hound (no dear reader, technically I was not actually ALONE in the strictest sense of the word) toward the living room. Stooping somewhat indecorously over the clothes basket, I began to retrieve the necessary assortment of garments which normally do not see daylight. At precisely that moment, the faithful hound reminded me in her inimitably canine way of her presence. Behind me. Close behind me. V-E-R-Y close. B-E-H-I-N-D me. Hi there. Assuming full, unchallenged vertical disposition so rapidly a lesser man might have blacked out, I whirled around. Supposing that I had been grinning cheek to cheek as it were, the faithful hound was now herself, grinning, or so it seemed to me. Suffice to say, I learned my lesson well. Canine social conventions are not necessarily what you may have learned in charm school. ;-) (Dan Vander Lugt, Bobby Vogel, Kim Rush, Ray Allen, Ryan Sheldon, Christian Wray, Kristina Johnson, Nancy G.
