Some of these technologies would be absolutely horrible. Cockpit Voice Recorders.only record a limited amiunt if time before an incident...because pilots unions decafes ago made the case that pulots are allowed to talk inflight (generally above 10,000 feet) and they deserve prvacy just as a surgeon and his/her nurses deserve privacy in an operating room...or 2 realators talking. Cameras 24/7 in the flight deck...would YOU like a Federal regulator with law enforcement powers watchung your every move while at work? And with monday morning quarterbacking capabilities...with law enforcement powers? Monitoring flight data and metrics and a cvr that recorded the whole flight is one thing...monotoring offsite in realtime is another. Sooner or later we as a society have to have more discussions about - just because we have technology to DO something...should we DO that thing?
