Some of you guys are out of Kontrol amazing. Im gonna try and put together a blog post in the next few days with a smattering of the recent messages and things Ive received from people buying music or just sending a note. You guys really have no idea what it feels like to read a fan letter from Sweden, Australia, Japan, or even from right here at home from states I dont get to often enough like Idaho, or Montana. Just to know and hear about it from you - that while Im asleep at night, some folks, somewhere found inspiration, a friend they really needed to make it thru, a laugh, or rocked out - or whatever - in/with my music.... Youll just have to take my word for it that its the coolest thing in the world, and more than makes all the long hours - in the studio, in the green room, in the van, tearing it all down at the end of a long night, all the sacrifices Ive made in life to do this - more than worth it. If you think that Im too busy to want to hear from you, Im not - and neither are your other favorite hard working bands. Im a busy guy, but I promise you - these days more than ever, especially, in this digital music marketplace - we musicians who hustle and still do this old school style (make real music for the right reasons) read EVERYTHING you send to our websites and stuff. Why? Because we are literally living on the air supply we get from the knowledge that some of you still care about us enough to 1) pay us for our blood sweat and tears and 2) want to establish a connection beyond that - beyond the normal listener, writer relationship. That you want us to know hey, this thing you made helped me. anyway, chuckle at me all you want, but it feels good to write this, because I hope to read something new from yall everday. I feed on it like fire (yes, I eat pieces of fire for breakfast), and I know that my hardworking artist friends do too. It keeps me going like you wouldnt believe, so reach out and holler at me any old time you like. Im in the studio all day today working on these new singles that come out before the end of the year in advance of #CitiesAndSchools LP, and right now as I get started, Im boosted and inspired, just thinking about Kim S. in Ireland, who bought my entire discography and a shirt and wrote me a 3 page email in the middle of the night last night, part of which actually said that one of my songs helped choose not to take her own life. You just cant know what that feels like. That alone - that one letter - is enough to know I made the right choice years ago to follow my dreams. I love yall so much! One million thanks! Jon
