“Some people are worth melting for.” --Olaf the Snowman in “Frozen” Anjellycka “Jelly” Heisz – a huge fan of the Disney movie – melted a lot of hearts during her recovery here. The three-year-old survived a violent accident on Nov. 26 when the automobile she was riding in collided head-on with a semi truck. Her mother was killed and her grandmother severely injured. Jelly was found crying, hanging upside down in her car seat. The youngster suffered extensive injuries – lacerated liver and kidney, a fractured skull and right limbs, a mild traumatic brain injury – and received a complete blood transfusion. To Jelly’s father, Andy Partridge, his daughter is a miracle. At Madonna, the preschooler learned to heal from her physical and emotional wounds. Today, we celebrate as Jelly and her father begin a new life in Omaha. Big steps for this brave little girl whose energy and laughter will be missed in our hallways. Thanks for reminding us to stay the course, Jelly, and that each day is a gift.
