Some people think foreign travel is somehow romantic. I reflected on that today as I spent 90 minutes in a cab stuck in Manila traffic, then checked in for a flight at the airport only to spend more than an hour in the immigration line, all the while under assault from some evidently bad pancit noodles Id had for lunch. But I made it alive to Kuala Lumpur, where Im saving the Lords money by overnighting on a nice padded bench in the airport. Not too bad, really, except for the Korean teenagers who just settled in on the next bench and are racing little remote control cars up and down the terminal. I guess Ill sleep when their batteries run down. So why do people think foreign travel is romantic?
