Some people who live and run businesses in the Chamonix Valley are too full of their own importance and love to dish out threats. Such a small pond for such a big fish as Gavin at chamserve Heres the sort of thing we regularly have to put up with here at our Office: On 03/02/2014 12:45, Gavin FIELDING - ChamServe - PPM wrote: > Hi ChamExpress, > > I called the office at 10:30am in need of help. I was stranded on the side of the motorway after my vehicle was involved in an accident. I was at Cluses peage and needing to get back to Chamonix. I asked if there was any chance you had and buses with a spare seat coming past the peage that I could get into as I was stranded. The person in the office said there was nothing in the area at this time. Over the next 1.5 hours that I was stranded standing in the cold, 2 minibuses and a coach all with many empty seat passed by. > > I have been a loyal partner/passenger/supporter of ChamExpress since 2008, although I know you are not obliged to do anything in this kind of situation, I hoped you would be able to help considering the circumstances. It is not a matter of not wishing to help. It is completely illegal for any commercially operated vehicle to stop and either collect or drop-off any passengers at any Peage or service area/layby on the atuoroute. In fact, it is a specific clause within our Regular Service Authorisation issued by the French and Swiss Governments that we do not do so. If we had of stopped to offer assistance, and either the toll booth staff, or anyone else had either reported us, or taken a photograph on their phone, then we could loose our licence to operate. With such a high-profile business it is important that we adhere precisely to all laws and legal requirements that we have to operate under. I am sure that as a fellow ex-pat business owner trying to operate in France that you will understand that this has to take precedent at all times. Normally, when a vehicle is involved in an accident (or breakdown) on the autoroute the vehicle owner/occupants travel with the recovery truck when it removes the vehicle and takes it to the garage. This way, onward travel for the occupants can then be more easily arranged as they are off the autoroute and in the warm. Hope this provides a little more clarification to help you understand the situation better. Best regards. I wasnt originally on the motorway and needed to get back to Chamonix after the vehicle was taken to the mercedes garage. I made my way towards the motorway to make it easier for whoever I could find to pick me up. The office staff were just unhelpful. > Its not difficult to help someone out in tricky situation, even it there are laws to abide by, I would never expect you to do anything outside the law. > > Dont worry you just wont get an business from me again. > > Gavin > Gavin Fielding (Personal Property Manager) > ChamServe - Chamonix Accommodation Services > Web: chamserve > Email: gavin@chamserve > UK local Rate Phone Line: +44 845 8682006 > FR local Rate Phone Line: +33 450 533641 > Mobile Phone: +33 676 114187 Hi Gavin. Did you receive a bump to the head in your accident? Clearly your ego and illusion of self-importance is getting the better of you. Youre been living for far too long in a small pond. Please kindly explain, why my buses, drivers, and more importantly fare paying passengers should be inconvenienced and delayed by having to drive off a motorway to pick you up? Youre not a friend. Youre not family. Youre not a paying customer. You are a simply a cheapskate. Perhaps youd also like to let me know how you have been a loyal supporter of our company since 2008 seeing as you ditched our offer of partnership, and didnt want to advertise in our on-board magazine etc? But suddenly you want to be our best friend when it suits you. Frankly, your attitude stinks, and I cant really think why anyone would want to possibly help you out? In the office by popular vote of our office staff youve now qualified for nob of the day. Frankly, I have better things to do with my time then waste it communicating further with you. Regards. Andrew
