Some terrible quality pictures of the first of my Sternguard from almost a year ago. Need to get back into the painting. Armour was done using watered down Liche purple with a tiny mix of Warlock purple. I then highlighted the power armour with a mix of liche and warlock purple and added a tiny bit of skull white. White on the helmet was done using several coats of grey in ever lighter tones, finally white was used as a final coat. I have experimented in several methods for white helmets and I find a full coat of white over the whole helmet and then a very dark grey wash or watered down mix in the recesses works the best and really makes the white stand out. This works better than edge highlighting white onto a very light grey helm in my opinion. Unfortunately the crappy nature of the photo makes it hard to make out details. The whole model was sealed with a spray of varnish.
