Some words about the BMC Racing Cup in Muttenz. “BMC Racing Cup Basel Ralph followed up a strong ride at the Windham World Cup with a fantastic performance in Basel, taking the win in the final round of the BMC Racing Cup. Despite some jetlag and tiredness, Ralph was confident of a good race having won in Basel last year in a sprint against Nino Schurter. I like the course and I knew that if I could suffer in the uphill then I could win so I just gave it everything. The course was fast and technical, and it was important to ride in a good position near the front. Ralph, along with his team mates, Moritz Milatz and Lukas Fluckiger, pulled away from the rest of the field before finally getting the better of Fluckiger in the final few metres. There wasnt any tactics, just all in until we blew up! It was a great day for the team - the support, the overall win for Milatz, a win on home soil for Ralph - and it was great preparation for this weekends final World Cup. Ralph comes to Meribel with good form and the confidence to finish the season - here and at the World Championships in Norway - on a high.”
