Someone forgot to mention to Tiff that it is the middle of winter, and so we found ourselves (when the rest of Australia was heading to the snow) making our way to the beach for a surf session at some freezing cold and dark hour of the morning. Now I will be the first to admit that we are blessed up here in Qld with relatively warm ocean temperatures all year round. This does not however extend to the beach showers that are cool in the summer and if they were any colder in the winter would simply freeze in the pipes (which may not necessarily be a bad thing). Once we were in the water the conditions were not to bad, and the kids had a blast looking for Paige’s new underwater camera after the first major wave knocked it out of Paige’s hand while she was filming Byron on his body board with it (apparently it took around three minuets to find according to the video that it recorded whilst being pummeled in to shore). Tiff was ok as she was riding her paddleboard in the Tallebudgera inlet and didn’t actually touch the water. Once we couldn’t take it anymore we packed up, turned some interesting shades of blue whilst showering off and made our way up to Barchino to meet up with our cousins Tim, Sharlene, Jared and Aaron. Breakfast was smashing as always and once we were done we all decided to head back down to the inlet so Jared and Aaron could have a go on the Paddle Board. I had learnt my lesson and watched the kids change color with Tiff, Sharlene and Tim from the safety of the beach. Good times
