Someone questioned if I really spend much time checking out people before they are admitted. If I am not satisified with a persons info on Facebook, I check peoplefinder, peekyou, pintrest, myspace, linkedin, whitepages, instantcheckmate, twitter; what ever it takes. I have screened 778 people to date, immediately blocked or ignored 61. The rest decided on their own that an open site, with someone being able to get occupation, relatives, address, phone #, satellite view of where they live, friends, groups they belong to, and things they like without spending a dime, is getting too personal. Some people I cant find what I am looking for. Then I send an open or private message to the person. Very few respond. I maintain a file with everyones name, city, birthdate if I can find it and info like if they are an RRT, RN, LPN, CNA, PA, Dr., advocate, etc. Sometimes I reject a person because they are obviously scams, hackers, stalkers, trouble makers, pedafiles and I even keep a list of exs with a protection from abuse (PFA) order against them so they cant stalk their ex on our site. Yes, I do take security seriously.
