Somerset level Pump Update. 14:20, 11 March 2014 Posted on GiantPumps OfSomerset Have had a phone call earlier from the EA as I requested an update on the pumps running and placed around the area, and rumours of dunball finishing very soon. As of today this is the situation at the moment, Levels are now dropping quickly overall, monks leaze clyst has been lowered an hour ago, the EA are monitoring the level and if levels remain the same or drop then this is the signal for the pumps at Beer wall to be switched off and removed to reopen the road. This could be as early as the end of the week 14 march, the A392 could be open this weekend. Aller Drove will also see a reduction in the water running across the road and this will reopen, even thou it is passable with care and knowing what your vehicle wadding height is. If levels still remain constant or show they are dropping then the pumps at dunball will be removed by the end of next week 21 march. there could be a possibility that 2 pumps are left in place just incase they need to pump on the high tides. The EA as also mentioned that the EA pumping station and portable pumps are now being very slowly switched off. This week the pumps at dunball have not been run, due to very low tides around the 7.5m-8m in height. Please note the EA are constantly monitoring the water levels around somerset, but it is very evident now the levels are dropping very very quickly. Good news at last. PirateMark AtSea
