Something Victory Life Group leaders should reflect on and respond to the call for a CHRISTlike Leadership & Discipleship NOW:) In response to that: I always pray for the Holy Spirit to grant each and everyone in Victory Zamboanga the 1) HEART for DISCIPLESHIP and that 2) CHRISTlike leadership. 1. What do we mean by having a HEART for DISCIPLESHIP? It means that IMMEDIATELY after we have encountered Jesus and accepted Him as our Savior, we HONOR that RELATIONSHIP with God by IMMEDIATELY braving out and reaching out to anyone (families, relatives, friends or mere acquaintances, & even strangers) at anytime, any place, or whatever the circumstance may be(even in FB or other channels of media). Because in doing so, we spread the Gospel & Salvation of Jesus Christ that others(the Lost, the cynical, and ignorant) will be SAVED! You might think and believe its difficult or complicated? Definitely NO! Just GO & DO 1-2-1:) 2. What does it mean to be a CHRISTlike leader? The common dictionary will define a leader as a person in power or great influence, with servants and followers under his command, disposal, and control. Sometimes, we are ruled by this perspective, we tend to consider individuals as our leaders especially if they manifest some certain degree of superiority as compared to others: in terms intellectual advantage, public speaking and effective writing, sometimes stature in life/profession, and a great deal of knowledge of the Bible. But we will be surprised how JESUS wants the Leaders of His Church to be! And contrary to the worlds definition of what leader is, JESUS shows in John 13 : 13-17 How to FOLLOW Him as a Leader - 13 You call me Teacher and Lord, and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one anothers feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. Jesus tells us that if any one wants to follow Him and lead his flock, that someone must be ready to the SERVANT of all...we are called to realize how JESUS LOVES US unconditionally, once washed the feet of His beloved disciples, and ULTIMATELY Died on the Cross for the Redemption of Mankind. Also, to have that CHRISTlike leadership means we believe that as we GO and SPREAD the Good News of Jesus, the HOLY SPIRIT will be upon us directing every word, every thought, and every action in accordance to Jesus ministry which He started over 2000 years ago and is very much alive until the end of time. Are we ready to be CHRISTlike leaders and have a Heart for Discipleship?
