Something interesting to know...In 1999 researchers did a comparison study of large, infrequent meals versus smaller, more frequent meals. They used two groups of healthy overweight men. One group had a large breakfast, then nothing for 5 hours. The other group ate the same amount of food, but divided up so they ate the same portions every hour for 5 hours. Then both groups were allowed to have an all-you-can-eat lunch. On average, the group that ate the frequent, small meals reduced their appetite by 27%. Even more significant, the small-meal group had favorable insulin and blood-glucose profiles.
