Something to ponder over. When the devil tempted Christ the third - TopicsExpress

Something to ponder over. When the devil tempted Christ the third time this is what transpired: Matthew 4:8-10 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Now what can we discern from this temptation of Christ? What can the Spirit of truth reveal unto us with this passage? How is it the Devil can give these things unless these things are entities that God has granted the devil some type of temporary control of? If these entities are under some temporary control of the devil is that to say that while he has that temporary control that they are trying to fulfill the devils goals? Who has God made the prince of this fallen world according to scripture? Who has God also appointed over the prince and declared to be King of Kings? What would happened if the King fell and worshipped a prince? Has the King of Kings returned yet to assert His control over this world and to lay out His judgement. The implications of this passage is much deeper than most preachers will speak of. I will end this thought with one last scripture as follows: 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christs stead, be ye reconciled to God.
