Something very scary happened to me tonight, and I want to tell everyone about it. It is something that really made me think a lot about how precious life is, and how we need to be grateful for every moment we are alive. I have been feeling so sick, and I fell asleep on the couch wearing a very heavy jacket because I was freezing! I woke up more sweaty than after a basketball game! I tried to get up, but I couldn’t – I was sooo dizzy! I was trying to convince myself that I was ok because my parents were sleeping. And I didn’t want to wake them up because they have to work early tomorrow – and this was happening at about 3:25 a.m. I managed to get up and walk to the kitchen where I got myself some water to drink. When I drank the water, things got even worse. My eyes started getting really blurry again, and I was so dizzy. That’s never happened to me before, so I was very scared. My eyes were open, but I couldn’t see anything! Things got darker and darker – until I completely lost my balance and fell on the floor! I tried to get up off the floor, but I was sweating even more, and I knew things were really bad. I tried to call my brother, marwan , but my voice was not loud enough. Everyone was sleeping. I grabbed my cell phone and tried to call the police, but my hands were shaking, and I dropped the phone. And I felt that I must be dying! I kept saying the Shehada ( اشهد ان لا اله الا الله و اشهد ان محمد رسول الله) because I was very afraid I started crying and asking God to forgive me before I die. And I was sad that I would not get to present in the USA next month. I was able to get to the bathroom where I ran my head under cold water. I started seeing a little bit better. But as soon as I took my head out of the water, I had the same bad feeling. So I kept my head under the water for a long time, and I started screaming like a baby, “Mamaaaa…help me plz …I will die!” My mom woke up, and she started crying. I didn’t want to scare her, so I just smiled and said, “Mom, don’t worry; I’m ok.” And she asked, “Tekha, are you really ok?” I said “yes” and smiled, but she didn’t believe me. I told her to please do me a favor and bring me anything with sugar. And we had no sugar in the house :( So she gave me water with honey and said we should go to the doctor, and she said my face was turning yellow. She was so afraid that I would die – and I was very near, I swear! Every time I took my head out of the water, things went black again. I told my mom to please make (Duaaa) دعاء for me so that God will forgive me. She started crying and screaming like crazy! She was out of words and started saying weird things like “How can I help you, please?” I just smiled, but I was thinking to myself this is the last time I will see her. I told her to please make me a cup of water. She came back and gave it to me like a baby. She was feeding it to me while my head was under the water and she started and telling me I will be better and strong and she said, “Come on hero…” things like I am still a lil kid. I drank the water from her hands, and she said “يا رب اشفي”. Suddenly I felt so much better. I started seeing a lil bit and I felt less dizzy this time . I am telling all of you this story because I want you to know that all of these things we are worrying about every day are not important. We need to live life now, and be thankful for every day we are on this Earth! People are fighting and getting into wars – and this is crazy because your life can end in one second! So I want to tell everyone that whatever your religion, it is important that you are good and that you pray because you will need God in a lot of situations…just as I did tonight! And I also want to tell my mom how much I love her! and That is how i look now ..... الحمدلله على كل شيء
