Sometime this year, C/man & Members of University Council Kyambogo - TopicsExpress

Sometime this year, C/man & Members of University Council Kyambogo University were arrested on orders of IGG. At first I & others thought there might have been a gud reason. But on closer scrutiny, some of the victims were professors, the chairman, prof #John Okedi who started NEMA from scratch, laid ground work for creating NARO, and no scandal during his watch at NEMA or anywhere he has held high profile ofis, a man of impeccable integrity. None of his colleagues had a known questionable record warranting arrest. It turned out that they were investigating a matter wic was within their jurisdiction but 4 woteva reason, the IGG didnt want them to. IGG Using (misusing?) powers, ordered them 2 stop. The C/man & his council disobeyed the order hence the arrest. Did the Council need 1st 2 ask 4 permission from IGG 2 investigate? Why did the IGG order the council 2 stop their investigation? Why was the IGG not patient 2 get their report & mayb pin them on their own report, or reject it? Was the IGG preempting something IGG didnt want the council 2 find? After all wasnt the council doing wot IGG was supposed 2 do? Hw many high profile cases of corruption are not touched by IGG involving theft of billions of shillings. Has the IGG successfuly tackled any cases reported by Commissions of inquiry, Auditor General, individuals etc. Why is IGG proscuting cases selectively, or makes weak proscution 2 let the thief off the hook eg Uganda Railways Corporation, CHOGAM GAVI/GLOBAL funds of Muhwesi Mukula Kaboyo et al syndicate? Why does IGG go 4 soft targets, and go realy hard on them 2 appear serious on corruption? The IGG is reported 2 hv said has failed 2 verify wealth as declared under leadership code. Tht is not true. IGG can but that would step on th wrong toes. Most of the investigation wud lead 2 forbiden territory, no-go areas where IGG wud need 2 ask bad questions. IGG must b serious 2 fight corruption. Start with ministers & generals. The rest wil b easy!
