Sometimes, I feel like a persons walk with God is much easier than we paint it. We surround ourselves with rules and customs that only make walking righteously almost an impossible thing to attain. This brings me back to Luke 10:25-28.. Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” What is written in the Law?” Jesus replied. “How do you read it?” He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” I believe that in learning to love God sincerely and knowing God, you will learn to love the way Jesus wanted us to love. Many think of God as some being one only runs to during our dark times or some kind of genie that has to listen to our petitions, and we forget that God once walked amongst us in the flesh, broke bread with ordinary people, and also felt love and betrayal from those dearest to him. Im sure theres more to it, but maybe understanding this part of God can help us understand that God doesnt want perfection but instead wants sincerity. Just a thought :)
