Tim Ingles, bassist, and recipient of the 2006 African Americans Making History Award was originally from Wilberforce Ohio.. During his four decade musical career he has been an educator, performer, lecturer and a leading instrumentalist for many of the entertainment worlds biggest talents. Ingles has performed with Broadways Tony Award winning vocalists Melba Moore and Linda Hopkins, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fames Laverne Baker, and Jazz and Rhythm and Blues legends Donald Byrd, Fred Wesley, Pharaoh Saunders, Yuseef Lateef and many other notable music pioneers. ... Ingles toured the United States and Europe extensively with Grammy Award nominee Mighty Sam McClain. ... Ingles has taught at Tufts University, Northeastern University, and the New England Conservatory of Music. In addition to his instruction credits, he has appeared as visiting artist, lecturer and performer with several music education and outreach programs including Bostons Wang Center Young at Arts program, the Blues Schoolhouse program produced by the House of Blues, and many performances through the Young Audiences presenting group.
