Sometimes cheap land is really expensive.... I came across a 0.31 acre lot for a cash price of $900 US, not counting legal fees. In Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. The ad looks nice enough: landwatch/default.aspx?ct=D&pid=289198524 However, by going over to Google Maps to see where 2017 Turnberry Lane, Horseshoe Bend, AR is, I find its in the middle of a forested subdivision with no houses anywhere near it. Just a bunch of gravel roads. That means theres probably no municipal water lines to the lot, and it might require the purchaser to install perhaps a mile or two of pipes to service the lot, which isnt big enough for both a safe well and a septic system... same goes for electricity, Utilities: Electricity available Yeah, at the cost of having the electric company install the poles and wires for a mile or so, at as much as a couple thousand dollars a pole.... And there are other risks, like not being able to get a clear title to the property. However, it would make for a secluded camp site for a tiny solar powered home on a trailer frame or some such.... I wouldnt tent camp here, since I wouldnt know which snakes and creepy-crawlies are poisonous...
