Sometimes our memory doesnt serve us well. See - everything we did was not horrible… If I get to cry - so do you... It was so sad - and the Senior Officer that arranged this flight - which was not approved - got busted. If he succeeded - he would have been a Hero. He is certainly my Hero! The Report read: Plane failure was the result of the Cigarette Lock Pins releasing during take-off. The rear cargo door opened, then slide up into the tail & destroyed the flight controls. The Crew Cab separated on impact - and bounced awhile but the crew survived. The Troop Comp. fell into the Cargo Bay and slid forward - crushing most of the babies & nurses. She broke up like an eggshell - and she was a mess… Info and pictures..
