[Sometimes we just mess up] If ever you feel like your day, your week, your month or even year is not going well and are afraid that people will take notice / judge you in some way for it...this is for you. If you are the type of person that takes pride in putting your all into a project, frequently going above and beyond and are always committed to having people walk away with results they can be happy with - you are a superhero! I know this in my heart to be true (even if I will not allow myself to say that I am a superhero). I am that type of dedicated human. I have been referred to as superwoman although I have never owned that label. I take pride in everything, go above and beyond all the time (admittedly not always to my advantage or the liking of others) and I am 100% committed to getting results (and they have to be GOOD or GREAT to be noteworthy). But sometimes...I am not perfect. ...Sometimes, I take on more than I can chew. ...Sometimes I dont have the time to go above and beyond. And while very rare - there are occasions that I dont achieve the results I hope for even if there are many others to proud of. And then there are those moments when I just mess up and feel awful about it. Especially if others are affected by my unnecessary chaos. But guess what, I am human! As are you! If you can relate, I want to tell you that we dont HAVE TO BE perfect. Our intentions can be greater than our outcomes and our moments of chaos can be setbacks of sorts, but it is precisely such circumstances that make us BETTER. These are the things that propel us forward. As they say, success is always outside the comfort zone. And if this is true, which I believe it is, we SHOULD be pushing our limits and expecting a little mess here and there. We cannot get to that next level without it. When I under-perform (in my own vision), or make a mistake (that I apologize profusely for) - I am honest with myself and others about it and I take those opportunities to make up for it in BIG ways. Thats all anyone can ask for. Thats living with integrity...and thats living with intention. The moral of this lunchtime story... Do not be afraid to aim high. If you come close or learn a valuable lesson in the process you are already WINNING. This is nothing to apologize for! You need to do you if you want to be exceptional (even if its a little messy at times). Dont sweat the small stuff. You are pushing on an ocean that very few are capable of and that makes you remarkable. So just keep on, keepin on. As #Nike would say Just Do It!
